Seven DCSD schools joined US-Again’s first “Battle of the Schools” Collection Challenge, collecting 6,522 pounds of clothes and shoes in just one month. Their efforts will plant 16 trees and provide clothing for 130 people, turning unwanted items into a positive impact for the environment and the community.

Composting

Cimarron Middle School’s pilot compost program brings students, staff, and community partners together to reduce cafeteria waste. Since launching on September 20, students have led composting efforts, tracked progress, and begun weighing materials to see the real impact of keeping food waste out of the landfill.
